Sara Siddique

Sara Siddique is President of Serendipity Media. She began her career advising small to medium entrepreneurial enterprises and has progressively advanced through organizations larger in both size and global footprint. She has held senior positions in large consulting firms as well as publicly listed companies in the energy sector with a focus in corporate taxation. Her last role before finding her way to Serendipity was Chief Financial Officer for an international oilfield service and technology company based in Calgary.

Sara is known for her expertise in strategic business planning, implementation, and taxation as well as her strong leadership skills and her ability to help companies successfully expand both domestically and internationally. During her career, she has become experienced in these areas as well as business partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and divestures, managing teams, operations, and projects of various sizes.

Sara graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a designated accountant. In addition, she has formally specialized in the area of taxation and has taught in that field for many years.

Jonathan Ward, CPA, CA

Jonathan Ward is the Chief Financial Officer of Serendipity Media. He plays a leading role in the development and execution of corporate strategy and he takes a hands-on approach to his duties to both stakeholders and his own team.

A graduate of Mount Allison University’s Commerce program, Jonathan’s early career focused in tax in the public advisory space, (Grant Thornton and KPMG). He later served as Chief Financial Officer in companies spanning the Energy Services, Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and Commercial Construction industries (at the Ferus Group of companies and Thermal Systems group of companies) before finding his way to Serendipity Media.

Jonathan is dedicated to serving his community and has been volunteer Treasurer for the Sharp Hill Residents’ Association since 2014. He is also a strong believer in education and growth. He has actively participated in continuing education as both a student and facilitator for many programs and courses delivered by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, Financial Planning Standards Council, Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Financial Executives International, and General Electric (Crotonville), picking up new certifications over the course of his career.

Sarah Howell

Sarah Howell is the Founder of Serendipity Media. Sarah started running a media company in 2009, as an event and production manager for live sports events, viewed across Canada and worldwide. Serendipity Media was launched in 2020 and Sarah now oversees dozens of film and tv productions across Canada and the world.

Sarah began her career as a Canadian National Team middle-distance runner and Social Worker. She has experience as a motivational speaker and is a Mom to two sets of identical twins. Sarah is especially passionate about producing sports and motivational content among the other productions.

ari taub

Ari Taub is Corporate Counsel for Serendipity Media.

A corporate lawyer and former Olympic wrestler, Ari is a producer, writer, director, and actor with numerous credits to his name. He is a leading Canadian content producer, with hundreds of hours of in-house produced content that includes an extensive library of 4k content.

Ari has been involved in operating a media distribution business that delivers content into key platforms in the digital media space, including the likes of Xumo, Pluto, Redbox, Amazon, Apple TV, Roku, IOS, and Android. The business has also licensed content to traditional broadcasters including ESPN, beIN SPORTS, Dish, Vubiquity, and InDemand.

joe packard

Joe Packard fills his day with ensuring operations happen properly for Serendipity Media and has worked in the sports and entertainment space for the last 12 years.

Previously, as the Commercial Director for Spruce Meadows Sports and Entertainment, his role consisted of ideating and executing all revenue streams as it related to multiple sport and venue properties. In his current role at Serendipity Media, he directly oversees growth and execution of all areas of professional services and production.

matt singerman

Matt Singerman is a seasoned television network & OTT executive with a proven track record of creating 15 traditional, SVOD, and AVOD networks.

He has had oversight of programming that drives multi-billion-dollar revenue streams, and is a trusted advisor to C-Suite executives seeking creative program development and flawless implementation of complex strategy.

Matt is committed to deep collaboration, sensitivity to cultural nuances, and excellence in setting and achieving targeted goals.

griffin gmelich

Griffin Gmelich is a seasoned entertainment executive with over 20 years of experience in digital and physical distribution.

An alumnus of Warner Bros and Hulu, among others, a pivotal career experience for Griffin was helping Hulu cultivate their SVOD & AVOD service by leading their film and comedy verticals for several years.

Mr. Gmelich has also held executive positions in Content Licensing and Programming, and Business Development/Sales and has launched 6 OTT channels including Whistle TV and the Comedy Dynamics Network over the course of his career.

Blair Carey

Blair Carey started selling newspaper subscriptions when he was 10.

Since then, he has been involved in sales or business development. Whether an individual sales producer, team leader, manager or consultant, Blair has always used both analytics and people skills to attain creative results and accelerate revenues for his companies.

As the a Leader of Commercialization for Serendipity Media, he leads the Sales Team including Inside and Field Sales Executives as well as Data Researchers to provide consistent lead generation, sales pipeline and revenues for our properties.

Maria Luz Zucchella

Maria Luz Zucchella is a TV and Film industry veteran with over 20 years of Executive experience in Television, Programming acquisitions, TV & Film Production, Business development and Distribution.

Skilled in strategic negotiations, film production, acquisitions and sales.

Zucchella graduated with a law degree specializing in Telecommunications along with a post-graduate degree in Business Management.

Liz Levenson

Liz Levenson is an international television executive who works with global networks, platforms, and producers to develop and distribute top-quality content around the world. With extensive experience in creative development and global business, Liz works closely with content generators and expanding digital and linear platforms to create content and opportunities that engage, inspire, and drive viewership. Liz has shared her experience on panels and at conferences around the globe, including MIPTV, MIPCOM, Realscreen, NATPE, the Banff Television Festival, ATF, Discop Africa, and more.

Prior to Serendipity Media, Liz co-founded Cactus Tree Entertainment. She was also previously the Vice President of Sales and Acquisitions at GRB Studios, and has held senior level positions at Pilgrim Studios, Rive Gauche Television, and CABLEready. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Sarah Ashley-Hewitson

Accomplished media executive with nearly two decades of success in the Canadian media and entertainment industry, working for companies such as Disney, MGM, Lionsgate/Maple Pictures, Alliance Films, Harvard Media, and Serendipity Media.

Often described as the person who goes above and beyond to ensure things are handled as intended, Sarah thrives in Serendipity Media’s dynamic, high energy environment with hard work to drive the team forward. Sarah is an expert relationship builder, cultivating solid partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally. In her current role with Serendipity Media, she is the head of Canadian licensing and distribution.

Stephen Young

Stephen is a sales, media, marketing and entertainment professional with an extensive background in almost all media formats. Prior to Serendipity Media, Stephen got his start in video production and advertising. He then moved into the music business working with Quality Records (Motown/Jive Records distributer) and then Capitol Records- EMI of Canada for over 10 years. After that, Stephen entered the advertising space with Glennie Stamnes Strategy and then Pattison Broadcast Group and Rogers Broadcasting followed television broadcast with Clear Channel.

Now, with Serendipity Media, Stephen is focused on brand partnerships and helping brands tell their story or be a part of a story.

Scott Cunningham

Scott Cunningham spends his time focused on Business Development for Serendipity Media.

Prior to joining Serendipity Media, Scott had been advising various CEOs at start-up ventures and has an extensive background in strategic start-up business, as well as, corporate development advisory in Real Estate, Mobile, Software and Ag tech sectors.

He was a key member of the start-up team at Oskar, (now Vodafone) in the Czech Republic, and was VP Business Development at Wmode, (now App Direct).

Andrew McEwan

Andrew focuses on branded content and partnerships with Serendipity Media.

Prior to SML, he published magazines, produced consumer trade shows, and worked for digital publishers.

However, where Andrew excels is in creating opportunity for business partners; through branded content and sponsorships.
